So Blake was a dream to photograph! He is a gorgeous baby and didn’t mind his picture being taken, so much in fact, he slept through the whole thing! It was wonderful seeing Jackie, Dan and now big brother Jacob again. Last I saw them was four years ago at Jacob’s newborn session. Jacob has grown into a handsome young man and just started preschool. It was so fun catching up with Jackie. Randomly Jacob’s new preschool teacher is a friend of mine that I had taught with many moons ago.

Now back to Blake! So I love this story. Blake is adopted and his parents Jackie and Dan are amazing humans with such compassionate hearts. They wanted an open adaption for both Blake and Jacob. How many people do you know feel it is important to have the birth mother in their children’s life? I think many would feel uncomfortable but they want their children to know and understand the women who gave their children life. Seriously how awesome are they?! Jackie said they have been on the adoption list for a bit this go around because it’s hard to find a birth mother who is open to an open adoption but luckily the right person came along! So here’s the surprise! Jackie and Dan got a surprise call and was told a baby was born in Springfield and can you go tomorrow and get him? Talk about all the feels. Of course they rushed to get him completely unprepared to have a newborn the next day but that did not slow them down. Jackie said it was love at first sight when they met Blake. Jacob is totally in love with his new baby brother too!

Thank you so much Dan and Jackie for allowing me to capture your children as newborns. They are such sweet boys!
