Meet Andrew, a 2022 Senior from Fort Zumwalt West. If you are a West fan, now re-read that again with the fun first down jaguar sound.
It was really a cool experience for me to shoot Andrew’s senior session. His mom Nicole and I go way back. We are sorority sisters (Sigma Kappa …Love the Dove) who went to college together. Nicole and I remember it as Southwest Missouri State but many of you know it as Missouri State. Did I just date myself? Eek but yup!
So Andrew plays the trombone which I learned he has nicknamed Jessica. People name their car, why not their instruments?! He said the name just came to him. Well however he came up with it, he and “Jessica†make a mean pair. Andrew plays for the Fort Zumwalt Band and is a Silver Jaguar Brigade member and also plays in the Jazz band. Andrew is the low brass captain of the marching band and even has a big solo part coming up in this weekend’s Homecoming game. That is so cool! Being so active with the school and spending most of his high school career on the field, it was very fitting to shoot some of his session on the field. I LOVE when we can make senior sessions so personal. Not only does Andrew love to play music but he has quite the range of music he loves to listen to. You might see some progressive R&B, melodic rap, soul, hip hop and jazz on his playlist. He also has a large vinyl collection!
Andrew also loves to bowl. I loved talking bowling with him because my family always bowled on leagues together growing up. The ultimate goal in bowling is to roll a perfect game which is a 300. Andrew has come close. He has a high score of 279! I don’t doubt he will hit that perfect game.
When asked about his future, he is unsure for his major as of now. He is also unsure which college he will head off to in the fall. He’s been accepted to Mizzou, Missouri State and K State. No matter where he chooses, he and “Jessica†will do great things together. Here is to setting the world on fire!
Congratulations Andrew!
